UK universities with blended degrees for working adults: how to compare them

Several UK universities run degrees for working adults with 1 to 2 campus days a week, or evening and weekend classes. AdmitGo works with 9 of them. Compare them on campus location, weekly timetable, whether the course has a Foundation Year, entry requirements, intakes and how the course is funded.

What to compare

  1. Campus and commute. The best timetable is the one you can attend every week. Some partners have campuses in London, Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds.
  2. Weekly pattern. Two fixed days, one day plus online, or evenings and weekends. Choose the one that matches your work.
  3. Foundation Year. If you left school years ago, a Foundation Year gives you a gentler start.
  4. Entry requirements. Some accept your CV and work experience, others ask for GCSEs or an equivalent school certificate. All set an interview and an English test.
  5. Intakes. Universities run several intakes a year, so you do not have to wait twelve months.
  6. Funding. Check that the course is eligible for Student Finance and what your status allows.
  7. Delivery. Some courses are delivered with a teaching partner such as QA Higher Education. Always confirm which university awards the degree.

Quick answers

Which university is best for working adults?

There is no single best one. It depends on where you live, which days you can attend and which subject you want. We help you compare.

Can I switch university later?

It is easier to choose well before you start. Switching later can affect your funding, so talk to us first.

Do all partner universities offer a Foundation Year?

Not all. Some courses start with one, others accept your work experience instead. Your advisor will tell you which route applies.
